If you're coming to or going from DC, The Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is a conveniently located, easy to get to and well-designed airport to take you across the country and into Canada. The view of Washington D.C. and key monuments from the site of the airport makes it a memorable trip. Should you forget a personal item or need to pick up a gift, the shopping establishments located
before and after security, as well as tasty restaurants are incredible and fun to visit.
Linked to DC's Metrorail system, you may take the rail from your apartment or nearby station to the airport near terminal B/C for friends and family pick up or just getting there yourself when you have carry-on luggage. Parking availability has been a problem in the past and a project is underway to add over 1400 spaces of Garage Parking.
One of the memorable attributes the airport has to offer to travelers is two awards for concessions - food, that is. Reagan National won awards from Airport Revenue News for being the Airport with the "Best Concession Program Design" and "Airport with the Best Concessions Management Team," in the Medium Size Airport division. From Dunkin' Donuts to Starbucks, the airport has you covered for coffee and sweet rolls for breakfast. You've got Five Guys Burgers and Jerry's Subs and Pizza for lunch, and Legal Seafood and Matsutake Sushi for dinner, as well as many, many other delicious selections.
Reagan National has a long and interesting history, with terminal A first landed upon in in 1947 by American Airlines, with Terminals B and C just added in 1997. The name of the National Airport was changed to Ronald Reagan in February 1998.
